CPSC, Scag Power Equipment Announce Recall of Tiger Cub Lawn Tractors
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in
cooperation with the manufacturers named below, today announced
voluntary recalls of the following consumer products. Consumers should
stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of product: Scag Tiger Cub Riding Lawn Tractors
Units: About 16,000
Manufacturer: Scag Power Equipment, of Mayville, Wis.
Hazard: Fuel can leak out of the carburetor, posing a risk of fire and
burn injuries.
Incidents/Injuries: Scag is aware of 20 incidents, all of which involved
fires and damage to tractors. Two consumers received minor burn injuries
to their hands as a result of trying to put out fires involving these
lawn tractors.
Description: The recalled zero-turn-radius riding lawn tractors are
"Cat's Eye Gold" with black trim, and have a vinyl seat. The body of the
tractor has "Scag Tiger Cub" written in red on the side and front of the
tractor. The following model and serial numbers can be found under the
seat, next to the hydraulic pump on the right hand side.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these tractors immediately and
contact a Scag Equipment dealer for a free repair. The company is
directly notifying those consumers who completed and returned warranty
cards.
